Good morning ,
Well, we’ve made it through our first week of picking and many people left the farm this past week with their baskets full of plump berries. As many of you are aware the lack of sun this summer has slowed down the ripening process and the next picking of ripe berries will be delayed a bit. Therefore, we need to shut the farm down for awhile so the sun can do its work. WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR PICKING UNTIL SATURDAY, AUGUST 8TH.
On another note, today was a special day because of a special group of young people who came up from the Brunswick area to pick berries at our farm. The Riverview Foundation sent about fifty elementary students up on a bus with some excellent counselors overseeing them. They were polite and interested in our farm operation. We hope they learned an appreciation for one of our natural resources in Maine and had fun in the sun as well. A great group!
We appreciate all the nice people who come to our farm!
Hope to see you in the patch when we reopen this weekend!
Brenda and George
