Wow, what a great day it was on Friday at the Farm! Many ripe berries were picked and taken home to be eaten, made into pies, muffins, crumbles, fruit cups, and crisps. I suspect some of those berries actually never made it home, as munching them in the car on the way took place, as well!
It is always nice to see multi-generational families come together on their annual trek to pick their berries. Each year seems to bring a little different look to the group as babies who used to be in front packs now toddle into the field; toddlers become old enough to really help pick more; teenagers carry the berries out for their grandparents; and sometimes grandparents walk a little slower in and out of the field. Yearly events are markers of our lives, and Steep Hill Farm is witness to this.
The blueberries are at their prime right now and they are plentiful. Don’t miss out!
Open Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
We take cash and checks only.
Raspberries are about done, although you can go hunt for them if you want. A few industrious pickers took their quart home today.
Hope to see you in the patch,
Brenda and George
