Our 2016 opening day for picking blueberries and raspberries will be Tuesday, July 19. Our hours will be from 8 A.M. to 7 P.M. The picking should be excellent!
Our prices will be the same as last year: blueberries will be $4.25 a quart and raspberries will be $6.50 a quart or $3.25 a pint. We accept cash or check, but do not take plastic cards. Bring your own quart boxes or buy ours at the farm for 15 cents.
A lot of pickers bring their own picking devices to allow their two hands to be free for picking and then turn the berries before check-out into quart boxes. This does make the picking go faster. A plastic milk container with a string through it to go around your neck is easy to make and does the job!
Supervised children are welcome at our farm. Our rule is that sampling is fine, lunch is not. Please be respectful of our blueberry bushes, which are over thirty years old!
Our fields are about a football field walk from parking. The raspberry field is further than the blueberry field and we ask that you stay on the mowed walkway to get there. It is clearly marked. The raspberry field is open to pick where you choose, the blueberry field is managed by George and he will assign you a picking spot. We ask that you stay in that spot unless you check with George so that he can give everyone a good picking experience.
We hope to be open most every day for the season from 8 A.M. to 7 P.M., but we do not pick in the rain, and occasionally shut down for field maintenance. We will update this blog daily to tell you our picking hours that day. Please check before you start out.
Hope to see you in the Patch!
Brenda and George
