Monday was a great day of picking at the Farm. Many families came to pick. We feel like we are greeting old friends coming back each year when we see pickers that come each year and fill us in on what has happened in their lives since the last season. Some have kids that come each year and we see how they have grown, some have moved away and come back for the summer. Some have lost a spouse, or had an operation, or had a grandchild.
A little two year old boy named Cole has been coming with his father and mother this year. While Mom picks blueberries, Cole enjoys looking at the flowers with the bees buzzing in them and the tractor that George has out for the kids to see. His Dad is incredibly patient with him and teaches him at every opportunity. I am sure Cole will grow up to be an amazing person.
And then there are new people who come for the first time and impress us with their energy and vitality. We hope they enjoy our farm enough to come back.
We have also been privileged to have extended family members of our own helping out this week, with our son-in-law’s brother and his girlfriend helping out on the Farm. They came up on vacation with our daughter and son-in-law for a Maine vacation and are participating in the activity here. It has been nice to have their energy here.
Enough of my rambling, come pick berries!
We will be open from 8 A.M to 7 P.M, Tuesday, weather permitting.
